Engagement meeting on Rejection of children with albinism in families.
Many children with albinism are rejected by their fathers because of their condition.
Watch this 7 minutes documentary as our organization discuss this issue with different stakeholders in Chipata. Among others Victim support unite has given guidance on what should be done and how to go about such situations. Some have suggested that perhaps AFZ needs to start sponsoring such families with DNA tests to help determine whether a child in question really belongs to that family or not. Women have also complained that they’re more affected and vulnerable as they’re mostly devorced and blamed for bringing shame to the family simply because they have given birth to children with albinism.
